Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron, Veuve Clicquot played an important role in the development and foundation of champagne as the drink of choice for the nobility and wealthy European bourgeoisie. Located in Reims, it currently has one of the most extensive and beautiful vineyards in Champagne, with around 390 hectares, divided between 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus that make up the entire Champagne region.
